Life is Short

We have no idea when Christ will come back. We have some idea of how long we could live. The reality of it all is our time on earth is short. We have a limited amount of time to live and work. God has given us a task to save souls and live faithfully.

Save souls. We don’t know when you or I or they will die! So get out there. The day of judgement is undetermined. The day of our death is not known to us. Don’t squander away preciouses time. We let life, sin, pride get in the way. (1 John 2:15-17) Those things drive us. They drive us to get out of bed, get to work, and make money. That’s not how its supposed to be. In the end does it mater how big your house is? Whether you had steak or a PB &J for dinner? What car you drove? Where you worked? How much you accomplished in the worlds eyes? No! In the end it is about weather or not you stayed faithful. (Rev. 2:10) In the end it’s about whether or not you kept His commands (Rev 20:11-15; John 12:48-50). Your works will matter.(Matt. 25:31-46; James 2:14-26) Don’t waste any more time on you.  Liberally spend all your time on God and others!

Live Faithfully. How hard is that to do? We say it all the time. We preach it to one another. Sometimes, I think, we just loose the true meaning behind it. Paul said “ To live is Christ, to Die is gain.” (Phil. 1:21) That’s what it means to live faitfully. It Is no longer you who lives, but Christ lives in you! The life you now live in the flesh is lived by faith in the Son of God! (Gal. 2:20) Faith is the substance of  our hope of eternal salvation and the evidence of God’s word that is not yet seen.  (Heb. 11:1) Live free, not to keep sinning. Live free, freely bound to Christ. What a blessing it is to be called children of God! (1 John 3:1) Serve God. Love God. Be in joy because of God. Keep His commands. Why? Because He saved you by His Son’s blood. He freed you from death! (James. 1:13-15; John 8:21-24) He gave you life! (John 4:13-14, 14:6; Heb. 5:8-9)

Don’t waste your life on this world that is here today and gone tomorrow! (1 John 2:17) Live your life seeking to save souls and obey God. There is freedom in it! There is true life in such a way of living. Be a good steward of the life and time God has given us. Don’t squander it on the very thing you have been freed from.
Life is Short!

Your Structure

“But  I  discipline  my  body and bring it into subjection, lest, when  I  have preached to others,  I myself  should become disqualified” (1 Corinthians 9:27). It would be best if you worked on creating in your mind mental structures for success. A study was done where  two basketball teams had to shoot free throws. One group went out and shot 100 free throws with something life 30% accuracy. The second group had sat for 30 minutes and visualized making a perfect free throw 100 times. That team went out and shot 100 free throws with 75% accuracy. What is the difference? The mental structure. You can do the same. Paul said, “I discipline my body, I seek to please God.” Just like Paul, we must get in our heads what we will do to be successful in Christ. Work to create Godly mental structures.                          ...

Pride Less Love

Love is not a prideful thing. Love is only sustained through humility. You must be willing to serve and sacrifice for others to love appropriately. The world, full of pride, does not do that (1 John 2:16). When we love the world, we fill ourselves with such pride that humility leaves us, therefore loving is nonexistent in our lives. The Lord hears the humble and answers the humble (Psalmist 10:17). Jesus, who is love, exemplifies true humble love in His life, death, and resurrection (Philippians 2:6-8). Only when we humble ourselves can we love and serve the way God wants us to. When we humbly love, seen in our service, God exalts us (Luke 23:10-12). Only the humble will love the Lord enough to keep His commands and become His bondservant (1 John 5:2; Galatians 1:10). If we are to have and show the love that God so desires, we have to be humble enough to serve, live like Christ, become a bondservant of God’s and walk away from the world. Love has no room for p...

Love Provoked

The world is provoked for different reasons. Anything from God’s word to good deeds for others to envy can cause wrath to be poured out (Jonah 3:10-4:1; Luke 15:20-28; Genesis 30:1, 2). What should provoke a New Testament Christian is quite different. Things like idol worship, inadequate treatment of others, turning from God, and dishonoring the house of God should cause indignation to swell up inside us (Exodus 32:19-22: 1 Samuel 20:33, 34; Matthew 21:12, 13; Acts 17:16, 17). This type of anger is justified (Mark 3:1-5). However, when this righteous indignation sets in, we will not forget who we are. We must be slow to anger (Nahum 1:3). It should not set in fast (Titus 1:7; Ephesians 4:6). We should be seeking to stir up love and good works no matter what (Hebrews 10:24, 25; 1 Corinthians 9:1, 2). We love the Lord so much it should bother us when He and His are mistreated. We need to handle things right and make sure we are never at fault for mistreat...
