The Indescribable Gift is to be . . .

The indescribable gift is something to be enjoyed while we live faithfully on this earth (2 Cor. 9:15). There are a great many blessings that are encompassed in this free gift from God through Christ. There are several things we need to consider.

The gift is to be used. How do we use it? You ask. We must do it (John 3:21). We must obey it and hold true to it (2 Thess. 1:8). We must live in it (2 Thess. 2:15; Col. 2:6). If we do not take the truth which Christ brought us and do it, we do not have the blessings here or in the hereafter (John 2:48-50; John 15:9, 10).

The gift is to be enjoyed. There is much to be joyful for. We are dead to sin in Christ (Rom. 6:7). We have newness of life in Christ (Rom. 6:4). We have the Fathers love (John 15:10). We have overcome the world (1 John 5:4). We have a great promise to rejoice over (2 Pet. 1:4). These are just some of the overwhelmingly abundant blessings we have in Christ that we should praise God for.

The indescribable gift is to be endured in. We must not be foolish and think that living godly is without its challenges. Yes, all who desire to live godly in Christ will suffer persecution (2 Tim. 3:12)! We will have trials that come our way but they will mature us in Christ (James 1:2-4). If we do not face these trials and exercise our faith, we will not mature in Christ (Heb. 5:14). Who in the world would want to lack in the fullness of spiritual growth that only comes in Christ? We only reach our full potential when we endure in the indescribable gift.

The indescribable gift is to be served in. We must seek to be all things to all people for the purpose of the spreading of the word (1 Cor. 9:19-23). We are God’s workmanship created in Christ for a work that God planned for us. We must seek to do the work the Lord has given us (Eph. 2:10). It is so easy to serve within the indescribable gift. It is not burdensome (Matt. 11:28-30). Let us enjoy the service we have in the indescribable gift!

We gain so much from the indescribable gift of Christ. Let us make sure to not forsake it. Let us seek to be aware of what the gift offers and allows us to do for God! We need to praise God for this free gift every day. What must you change in your life to live to the fullness that is found in Christ?

My Thoughts

Think on what is lovely. Let God direct your mind to what is truly lovely in this world. At the very least that tree, flower, and blade of grass that He made and you saw today is lovely. Let Him influence your thoughts every day until you think on what God considers lovely. Then dwell on those things. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. (Col. 3:16) There will be an overflow of lovely thoughts pour from your mind. Think about how encouraging to others that would be. Think lovely thoughts.

The Quiet Work

“For even the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).      We often think that to do big things; then earth-shattering events need to be taking place around us. The Good Samaritan did a big thing, and there was not even a mention of an earthquake. Sometimes the road to success and greatness is filled with little things done right. It’s a road where every brick was placed with care, love, and service. We pursue excellence in everything that we do. We want to be great in the kingdom of God. Everyone does. Jesus says to achieve this we need to be a servant. A servant is a quiet, hardworking, and devoted person. They don’t make waves in the ocean. However, they make constant ripples in the pond. The reason for this being as servants of God, we serve everyone, everywhere, every time. That means we quietly serve everyone, even the unserviceable, undeserving, uncaring, and undesirable. No, it doesn’t bring down buildings and ch

It's A Location Problem

Two men were walking down a street on opposite sides. It began to rain. It only rained on one side of the road. At the next crosswalk, the man who had walked in the rain looked at the other and said, "How are you dry?" he replied with this one word, "Location." We need to understand that location plays a huge role in a lot of things in our lives. Everything from our character to our mental stability is effect by our location. It would make complete sense that where our heart was located would determine how we live. Our treasure is where our heart is. Meaning that what you will live for, work for, die for, and yearn for whatever our heart is set on. As Christians, our hearts should be in God. If it is, the perfect law of liberty becomes the greatest blessing in the world. It turns from a daunting list of dos and don'ts to a beautiful guide to greatness. It's all about where your heart is. Then that leaves us with this question, "Where is your he
