A Little Thing Matters

“Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life” (Revelation 2:10).

We are taught to dream big. We walk around saying, “Go big or go home.” We have a mentality that if we can’t have it all, it’s not enough or worth it. We even expect others around us to give us the world with every word or gift. The reality is, that’s not real. Yes, give it your all. Of course, you want to reach the highest high. You do not get there with getting it all done that day. No one ever walked into a gym and deadlifted 600 pounds on the first try. No one ever walked into a kitchen and made a souffle on the first try. No, they both had to have had previous knowledge, understanding, and training to make that happen. It is the little things that make the difference. Our faith is the same way.

You will not go out and baptize 1,000 people on your first day of evangelizing. You won’t comfort and pray for your brother in Christ perfectly on the first try. You won’t share in your sister’s burdens sufficiently the first time around. Your prayers are going to be messy, your Bible studying may not be consistent. Your good works will be sporadic and hectic at first. When you are doing them every day, they will get better. Those little things get us to heaven. Trying every day to do something for the Lord changes the world. If all you do today is pray, read scripture, and do something kind for at least one person, you have done something incredible! The world you walk in never considers such rebellious things. So, don’t try to save the world today. Just say a prayer for someone. Just speak Biblical truth to a person. Open a door for a soul. It’s the little things that matter for you and them.

Your Structure

“But  I  discipline  my  body and bring it into subjection, lest, when  I  have preached to others,  I myself  should become disqualified” (1 Corinthians 9:27). It would be best if you worked on creating in your mind mental structures for success. A study was done where  two basketball teams had to shoot free throws. One group went out and shot 100 free throws with something life 30% accuracy. The second group had sat for 30 minutes and visualized making a perfect free throw 100 times. That team went out and shot 100 free throws with 75% accuracy. What is the difference? The mental structure. You can do the same. Paul said, “I discipline my body, I seek to please God.” Just like Paul, we must get in our heads what we will do to be successful in Christ. Work to create Godly mental structures.                          ...

Pride Less Love

Love is not a prideful thing. Love is only sustained through humility. You must be willing to serve and sacrifice for others to love appropriately. The world, full of pride, does not do that (1 John 2:16). When we love the world, we fill ourselves with such pride that humility leaves us, therefore loving is nonexistent in our lives. The Lord hears the humble and answers the humble (Psalmist 10:17). Jesus, who is love, exemplifies true humble love in His life, death, and resurrection (Philippians 2:6-8). Only when we humble ourselves can we love and serve the way God wants us to. When we humbly love, seen in our service, God exalts us (Luke 23:10-12). Only the humble will love the Lord enough to keep His commands and become His bondservant (1 John 5:2; Galatians 1:10). If we are to have and show the love that God so desires, we have to be humble enough to serve, live like Christ, become a bondservant of God’s and walk away from the world. Love has no room for p...

Hot Topic

The hot topic here lately is woman's roles in the church. I know that can be an argumentative issue for many Christians. I would say the pursuit of broadening woman's roles in the church is not the issue. Just like sin is not the issue in our lives. It goes much deeper for sin is a product of our own evil desires ( James 1:12-15 ). The evil desires is the issue. We use it to fulfil things that we don't want God to fill or don't think God can fill. With this topic of woman's roles in the church the issues is much deeper. The issue is lack of bible knowledge ( 1 Cor. 15:33-34 ). Knowing the truth is where freedom is. Abiding in His word is how we are His disciples ( John 8:31-32 ).  Not binding yourself by His word means you can do what you want. It wont glorify God but hey you got what you wanted. I know that is a rough way to say that but it’s true. We may not outright admit to such a line of thinking but we show it in our actions, ...
