Same Mind

Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
Romans 12:16

Be of the same mind toward one another (Acts 4:32). There should be no division due to money, social statues, look, etc. We should all be considered brothers and sisters in Christ.  We are one body (Eph. 4:4-6). Although we have many part we are still to be in one mind (1 Cor. 12:12). That’s how we can have all things in common (Acts 2:44).  We have to work out our own salvation as individuals, but it’s the same work and the same salvation for us all (Phil. 2:12-13; Acts 2:39).  So we are to be unified in all we do (Phil. 2:1-4).  Picking favorites and have exclusive cliques in the body is not healthy. That clique concept can hinder your walk.

Do you feel like you’re the only one doing the Lord's work?
Do you think of some better than others?

Do you prefer to only consider certain members of the body as brethren?
What are you doing to be the same mind toward everyone?

Your Structure

“But  I  discipline  my  body and bring it into subjection, lest, when  I  have preached to others,  I myself  should become disqualified” (1 Corinthians 9:27). It would be best if you worked on creating in your mind mental structures for success. A study was done where  two basketball teams had to shoot free throws. One group went out and shot 100 free throws with something life 30% accuracy. The second group had sat for 30 minutes and visualized making a perfect free throw 100 times. That team went out and shot 100 free throws with 75% accuracy. What is the difference? The mental structure. You can do the same. Paul said, “I discipline my body, I seek to please God.” Just like Paul, we must get in our heads what we will do to be successful in Christ. Work to create Godly mental structures.                          ...

Pride Less Love

Love is not a prideful thing. Love is only sustained through humility. You must be willing to serve and sacrifice for others to love appropriately. The world, full of pride, does not do that (1 John 2:16). When we love the world, we fill ourselves with such pride that humility leaves us, therefore loving is nonexistent in our lives. The Lord hears the humble and answers the humble (Psalmist 10:17). Jesus, who is love, exemplifies true humble love in His life, death, and resurrection (Philippians 2:6-8). Only when we humble ourselves can we love and serve the way God wants us to. When we humbly love, seen in our service, God exalts us (Luke 23:10-12). Only the humble will love the Lord enough to keep His commands and become His bondservant (1 John 5:2; Galatians 1:10). If we are to have and show the love that God so desires, we have to be humble enough to serve, live like Christ, become a bondservant of God’s and walk away from the world. Love has no room for p...

Entertaining Angels

“distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.”      Romans 12:13         We are stewards of God. We need to distribute what God blessed us with. We need to do it especially for the saints that are in need.  Don’t wait to be asked, seek opportunities to be hospitable.       A great distinction of Christianity is our concern for the needy. No man is truly genuine in his walk who does not exhibit that quality of character ( James 1:27 ).  We need to seek to be hospitable to strangers ( 1 Tim. 5:10 ) .         By being hospitable to strangers some have entertained angels ( Heb. 13:2 ). That could be reference to Abraham and Lot ( Gen. 18:1; Gen. 19:1 ). Not that that should be a reason for our hospitality but it should provoke an understanding of watchfulness in hospitality.  Although many may go away served giving back nothing more than a thank you, there are some ...
