Always Rejoicing

“rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;”
Romans 12:12

We are exhorted to look beyond the preset trials and affliction to the high exalted hope of eternal glory with God (1 Pet. 1:6-9). Rejoice in the Lord always (Phil. 4:4). A despondent, complaining, disheartened and pessimistic spirit is not in accord with being a Christian.

We have every reason to be optimistic about everything. There is always something for us to rejoice in. At the very least it’s the hope of eternal salvation. This hope serves and as anchor for the soul (Heb. 6:19). It’s a sure and steadfast hope.

Faithful Christian's have a treasure is there (
Matt. 6:19-20). Our citizenship is there (Phil. 3:18-4:1). Our name is written there in the Book of Life (Luke 10:20; Phil 4:3). Our Lord has prepared for us a place there (John 14:1-6). Our affections should be there because where our treasure is there our heart will be also (Col. 3:1-4; Matt. 6:21). That makes it awfully easy to rejoice in hope.

Do you rejoice continually in the hope of eternal salvation?

Is that hope the anchor of your soul, both sure and steadfast?

Are you living in pursuit of such hope?

Do you live like you have that hope?

What do you need to change?

Where do you need to grow?

Your Structure

“But  I  discipline  my  body and bring it into subjection, lest, when  I  have preached to others,  I myself  should become disqualified” (1 Corinthians 9:27). It would be best if you worked on creating in your mind mental structures for success. A study was done where  two basketball teams had to shoot free throws. One group went out and shot 100 free throws with something life 30% accuracy. The second group had sat for 30 minutes and visualized making a perfect free throw 100 times. That team went out and shot 100 free throws with 75% accuracy. What is the difference? The mental structure. You can do the same. Paul said, “I discipline my body, I seek to please God.” Just like Paul, we must get in our heads what we will do to be successful in Christ. Work to create Godly mental structures.                          ...

Pride Less Love

Love is not a prideful thing. Love is only sustained through humility. You must be willing to serve and sacrifice for others to love appropriately. The world, full of pride, does not do that (1 John 2:16). When we love the world, we fill ourselves with such pride that humility leaves us, therefore loving is nonexistent in our lives. The Lord hears the humble and answers the humble (Psalmist 10:17). Jesus, who is love, exemplifies true humble love in His life, death, and resurrection (Philippians 2:6-8). Only when we humble ourselves can we love and serve the way God wants us to. When we humbly love, seen in our service, God exalts us (Luke 23:10-12). Only the humble will love the Lord enough to keep His commands and become His bondservant (1 John 5:2; Galatians 1:10). If we are to have and show the love that God so desires, we have to be humble enough to serve, live like Christ, become a bondservant of God’s and walk away from the world. Love has no room for p...

Hot Topic

The hot topic here lately is woman's roles in the church. I know that can be an argumentative issue for many Christians. I would say the pursuit of broadening woman's roles in the church is not the issue. Just like sin is not the issue in our lives. It goes much deeper for sin is a product of our own evil desires ( James 1:12-15 ). The evil desires is the issue. We use it to fulfil things that we don't want God to fill or don't think God can fill. With this topic of woman's roles in the church the issues is much deeper. The issue is lack of bible knowledge ( 1 Cor. 15:33-34 ). Knowing the truth is where freedom is. Abiding in His word is how we are His disciples ( John 8:31-32 ).  Not binding yourself by His word means you can do what you want. It wont glorify God but hey you got what you wanted. I know that is a rough way to say that but it’s true. We may not outright admit to such a line of thinking but we show it in our actions, ...
